Benchmark numbers for sales force

For direct sales companies, for example Eureka Forbes or even credit card/loan salesmen what are the benchmark/target numbers that are given to the salesmen? I assume that the world has moved on beyond just the sales number based incentive systems.

What are some of the sample benchmark numbers? (I mean, what are the benchmark numbers given for each metric for the salesperson to attempt?)

How is the incentive system balanced between these different metrics? (If sales completion fetches 100 points, how much does a demo run fetch? or how much does a completed cold call fetch?)

What are the methods of monitoring the sanctity of the numbers claimed?
